Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya, often referred to as the Lion Rock, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic historical attractions. Built in the 5th century by King Kasyapa, Sigiriya served as a fortress and later became a monastery complex. After Kasyapa’s death, Sigiriya was abandoned and later used as a monastery complex until the 14th century.
